Wayne County Human Services, Dietary Department, works to provide hot or frozen meals each day to older adults at senior centers, as well as to those who are temporarily or permanently confined to their homes.

Join our team and start making a difference today! DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a meal transporter, you have the opportunity to deliver a meal with a smile and greatly impact the lives of others through your conversation.
Responsibilities include: Completing log sheets.
Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling meals (meals could weigh up to 50 pounds).
Ensure hot or frozen food items are kept in compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
Deliver food and/or meals using a vehicle.
(Average 150 miles per day).
Move hot, bulk, and/or frozen meals from loading dock.
Transport meals or surplus/pantry food.
Our ideal candidate must be personable, have good communication skills, and enjoy engaging with others.
You must be able to manage multiple tasks, pay close attention to detail in challenging work environments, maintain organization, and be able to meet deadlines.
This position remains in contact with the senior center clerk to provide updates, concerns, and pertinent consumer information.
Work Schedule and Additional Information: Part-time, on-call, employment working 12-18 hours per week.
Work hours begin at 8:00 AM and conclude when all meals have been delivered for the day.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months of experience which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements: You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Condition of Employment: No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
