United Methodist Homes has Charge Nurse Opportunities for LPNs.
Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the nursing tasks and activities performed by CNA's and nursing department non-licensed staff.
Such supervision must be in accordance with current Federal and State regulations and laws.
[NOTE: Licensed Practical Nurses must perform tasks only within the LPN scope of practice and must obtain direction of a Registered Professional Nurse whenever needed.
A registered Professional Nurse must at all times be on the premises OR accessible by telephone.

Salary Range: $26.
00 - $30.
00 per hour + $2.
00 shift differential for evenings and overnighs
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of New York.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Working knowledge of pharmacology
Competent leadership skills
Adequate problem-solving skills
Positive interpersonal skills in working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Awareness of environmental safety
Ability to plan, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, policies and procedures for quality care.
Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into nursing practice.
Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job
Responsibilities:
Completes resident data collection and nursing assessments within scope of practice
Identifies and documents resident problems, symptoms, and changes in condition and takes appropriate action
Establishes and follows a plan of care based on resident needs.
Implements nursing care, including administering medications and performing medical treatments and nursing procedures within scope of practice
Monitors the effectiveness and appropriateness of the plan of care, ensuring change is made to the plan of care/make change when necessary within scope of practice.
Provides leadership to nursing personnel assigned to unit/shift
Monitors the implementation of the plan of care for assigned residents.
Supervises the tasks and activities of the Certified Nursing Assistants and nursing non-licensed staff.
Communicates effectively with others (residents, families, visitors, and co-workers)
Have knowledge of and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
Identifies learning needs of residents/families and family caregivers and helps to develop and implement a teaching plan
Identifies learning needs of residents/families and family caregivers and helps to develop and implement a teaching plan within scope of practice
Documents information in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident and the resident’s response to the care
Understands and follows all HIPAA guidelines
